Socks for the Homeless

If you are looking to share an act of kindness this holiday season, please consider supporting our Socks for the Homeless campaign.

How to participate:

Start with a gift of a good pair of warm, new socks. Fill one of the socks with a selection of the following items:

  • Toiletries and hygiene products
  • Cold weather clothing
  • Packaged food/candies
  • Games like a deck of cards or dice
  • Gift certificates (places like Tim Hortons and McDonald's)

Once the sock is full, mark whether it is for a man or woman, add the second sock and a Christmas card with a special handwritten message.

Drop-off times:

Collection bins will be set up inside the McClure United Church East doors on:

  • Sunday, November 15th - 10AM to Noon
  • Wednesday, November 18th - 6 to 8PM
  • Sunday, November 22nd - 10AM to Noon

Remember: if you are entering the church you must wear a mask and sign in so that we have a list for tracing if needed.

The items will be handed out to men and women living on the street by Community Support Officers during the weeks before Christmas. God bless you and thank you for thinking of our most vulnerable citizens during the holiday season.
