Board Report on Renewal

At its meeting on May 26, the Board approved two motions:

That McClure United Church reduce its complement of Order of Ministry Staff from 3 full time positions to 2 full time positions, and that the McClure United Church Board inform the congregation of this decision, which will become effective June 30, 2020.

That the Order of Ministry Position Descriptions: Minister of Worship and Pastoral Care, Children, Youth, Young Adults and Families and Minister of Worship and Pastoral Care, Middle and Older Ages and Families be adopted, and that the McClure United Church Board inform the congregation of this decision, which will become effective June 30, 2020.

These decisions, made on behalf of the McClure United Church community of faith, are the outcome of many conversations and extensive input from the congregation.  They reflect our congregation's commitment to continually refresh the ways in which we put our distinctive Christ-centred McClure vision and mission into action, even as they acknowledge a need to be responsible stewards of the time, talent and financial resources of the congregation.

Debra and Laura have gracefully accepted these substantial changes to their position profiles.  Their continuing ministries are a blessing to the McClure congregation and we express our gratitude and admiration for their continued spiritual leadership. Regional Council approved the changes in ministry complement and position profiles, having been was fully apprised of the background work and of the engagement with the congregation and with the Ministry team. The Board calls now on our community of faith to embrace the decisions that have been made and to participate joyfully in the life and work of McClure United Church in the months and years ahead.
